Amcor has introduced the Moderna flip-top tamper-evident (TE) closure, targeted at commercial producers of vinegar, sauces, and dressings.
The cap is manufactured as a recycle-ready mono-material one-piece construction, suitable for processing where appropriate collection systems exist.

Designed for PET bottles, the closure secures via a snap-on application to a 29/21 neck finish.
Product freshness is maintained by an internal bore seal, while controlled dispensing is provided through three distinct options: 2mm, 6mm, and multi-opening formats.
The closure incorporates a TE mechanism built directly into the flip-top lid, which permits one-handed actuation and provides a visible seal confirming that the container has not been breached.
Following opening, the TE tab remains captured inside the closure body.
This retention prevents the severed component from entering the natural environment or becoming separated in the waste stream.
Amcor supplies the unit in a selection of standard colours, allowing food manufacturers to adapt the appearance to their brand identity.
Amcor Global Rigids Packaging Solutions sales vice-president Matthias Hammersen said: “With the Moderna Flip Top TE closure, we’ve created a lightweight design that combines functionality, customer convenience and recycle-readiness, supporting the circular economy while providing improved usability for a wide range of applications.”
The launch follows Amcor’s work last month for Choví, a Spanish sauce manufacturer established in 1953 and an existing commercial partner.
