Australia-based wine company Accolade Wines has launched its Summer Berries Vodka in a new bottle from Irish glass and metal products manufacturer Ardagh Group.

The new bottle has been designed by Ardagh to meet Accolade’s demand for a special design for their first step into the spirits market.

The design required to stand out while justifying the wine company’s Echo Falls brand.

The bottle was designed by Ardagh Group’s design team based in Knottingley, West Yorkshire, UK.

Accolade Wines Procurement head Claire Gittins said: “This is the most unique bottle that Accolade Wines have ever launched.

“The sleek shape of the 70cl bottle was created by taking cues from other wine and vodka bottles.”

“Ardagh totally understood our brief and timelines and quickly engaged with their design team to develop a number of options.

“They worked with us closely and adapted designs to meet our key criteria, advising design enhancements for the greatest impact whilst optimising costs and benefits at all times.”

The sleek shape of the 70cl bottle was created by taking cues from other wine and vodka bottles.

Once the shape was approved, a design session between the teams of the two companies was carried out in order to decide on the art deco-style facets that would be added around the root of the neck of the bottle.

Ardagh Group has manufactured the new bottle at a light weight of 380g, which supports the wine firm’s sustainability and environmental policies.
