Thailand-based packaging solutions provider SCG Packaging has selected Aspen Mtell software to optimise operations and minimise unplanned downtime.

Developed by Aspen Technology, the Mtell software procures historical and real-time operational and maintenance data to identify defects before actual asset degradation or breakdowns.

The technology is capable of predicting future failures and suggesting detailed measures to resolve the issues.

SCG Packaging selected Aspen Mtell software through a competitive selection process after assessing various factors. It was selected on the basis of the speed of deployment, early detection of asset failures, and the ability to scale the solution system-wide.

The software was also found to trigger a smaller number of false alarms in the process.

SCG said: “Aspen Mtell software can predict degradation much earlier compared to competing software systems.
