Kodak introduced Ultrastream Technology as a conceptual demonstration in 2016 and is planning to expand the technology to its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners this year.

Leveraging Kodak Ultrastream Technology, Uteco is planning to expand its high-productivity digital press portfolio for flexible packaging in 2020.

According to the company, the technology uses environmentally friendly and water-based inks on both plastics and paper.
In another development, Kodak has introduced new Kodak Prosper Plus Imprinting Solutions for the packaging industry.
The solutions feature four new imprinting components as well as food-safe packaging inks and pre-coatings for folding cartons, food wraps, paper cups and plates, as well as ream wraps.
Kodak noted that these new models will allow printers to use the continuous inkjet technology to add value to Kodak Prosper 6000S Simplex Press and the Uteco Sapphire Evo Web Fed Solution. Uteco’s Sapphire Evo Solutions was first introduced in June.
