The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.16% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.36% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 48.84% in May 2022, registering a 5% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 25.58% share, a decrease of 15.38% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 13.95%, registering a 20% rise from April 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 6.98%, up 50% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 3.45% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s packaging industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton posted 11 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 57.14% over the previous month, followed by The Body Shop International with 7 jobs and a 36.36% drop. Goodfood with 6 IT jobs and Nestle with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Cascades recorded a decline of 33.33% with 2 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.47%, down by 18.75% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.91% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 9.3% share, up 33.33% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.33%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
