Sustainable and innovative packaging manufacturer Pact Group will develop a new non-stick paint packaging solution, under a partnership with permanently wet, liquid-impregnated surface technology provider LiquiGlide.

According to the agreed terms, Pact will use LiquiGlide’s patented slippery coating technology to create new paint packaging solutions that claim to eliminate sticking and residues, while reducing the environmental impact associated with residual paint.

"Our partnership with LiquiGlide will allow us to explore and eventually provide paint packaging solutions that will benefit the environment, the brand owners and the end consumer."

LiquiGlide’s coatings are a combination of textured solid and a liquid, thereby becoming a permanently wet slippery surface that enables viscous liquids to slide easily. This will prevent skin formation and flaking, while allowing consumers to get more product out of the container.

Pact Group general manager Mark Nothnagel said: "At Pact, we are not only focused on creating innovative packaging solutions that add value for our customers and end users, but also solutions that are more sustainable.

"Our partnership with LiquiGlide will allow us to explore and eventually provide paint packaging solutions that will benefit the environment, the brand owners and the end consumer. This is a great demonstration of our organisation living one of our core values; to constantly seek opportunities for transformational change."

Based in Australia, Pact converts primarily plastic resin and steel into packaging and related products for applications in food, dairy, beverage, chemical, agricultural, industrial and other sectors.
