Paperboard packaging specialist Green Bay Packaging has acquired Great Lakes Packaging and Midland Container Corporation from MidCon Holdings, effective from 31 October.
The acquisition of Great Lakes Packaging and Midland Container is collectively known as MidCon.

This transaction will bolster Green Bay Packaging’s point of purchase printing and display capabilities, as well as expands the company’s presence into new markets.
Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Green Bay Packaging president and CEO Will Kress said: "MidCon is a perfect fit geographically, strategically and most important from a leadership and cultural approach to their business.
"The acquisition allows us to grow our company, adding two organisations that have an excellent reputation for service and quality, and who run their operations with a similar business philosophy as ours."

By GlobalDataMeanwhile, Green Bay Packaging is also investing $30m in the press section replacement for PM1 at its Arkansas Kraft Division in Morrilton Arkansas.
Work under the project will include the installation of a new large nip press in the first press position, followed by a new shoe press in the second press position and other infrastructure upgrades.
Voith Paper will supply the equipment, while Robins & Morton will provide engineering services.
The PM1 upgrades will increase production by more than 13% and will improve efficiency when running lightweight liner-board and medium.
