Ilapak has introduced a new trayless flow wrapping system which reduces costs and improves efficiency when packing apples.
The integrated system has the ability to pack apples at speeds of 80 packs a minute without causing any damage to the fruit.

The modular design allows the packaging line to be easily incorporated by any packaging firm for its different packaging requirements. It can flow wrap apples in different trayless pack styles of four, six, eight or ten, and trayless packs of three or four inline. Packs can also be developed using acetate or styrene trays or cardboard skillets.
The automated feeding system was designed based on Ilapak’s Carrera 1000/40 flowrapper and Burg feeding system.
Its features include the ability to detect wide variations in the size of fruit, a no-product-no-bag concept, detecting misplaced products and a 64-programme memory.
Ilapak partnered with Burg’s UK agent NP Seymour to make the packaging line fully automatic. It combined Burg’s feeding system with the flow wrapper’s infeed conveyor.
