BERICAP’s HexaLite® 29/25 has been successfully introduced at AGUAS DE MONDARIZ (Spain). Since 1998, the Galician water filler AGUAS DE MONDARIZ has taken steps to reduce raw materials in its bottles and closures. It was the first water spring to convert the PVC bottle to PET, always keeping ahead of its technology and environmental commitments by producing its own PET preforms. During the last ten years a weight reduction of 10% on the bottle has been achieved.
As a next step of light weighting the package, the neck was converted to a 29/25 bottle neck achieving about 40% weight saving in the neck thus contributing to a better carbon footprint of the package.
Recently, AGUAS DE MONDARIZ chose BERICAP’s HexaLite 29/11 solution to convert two filling lines before the end of 2010. At the beginning of 2011, BERICAP successfully converted the third filling line, covering the complete production of this premium water brand.
The HexaLite 29/11 closure is equipped with a slit and folded safety band (flexband) for efficient TE performance, providing good anti-counterfeiting protection at the same time, and offering reliable performance even on high-speed lines. The sealing system has been designed for maximum tightness.
AGUAS DE MONDARIZ’s marketing department has highlighted the excellent performance of the closure for the consumer which justifies the investment, and has described this positive argument in its marketing campaigns, in magazines and newspapers.
Furthermore, the easy opening of the HexaLite has been a major improvement on the previous closure and has been promoted on the shrink film / on-pack promotion on the 1,5l bottle: ‘Now, a new and environmental friendly closure, easier to open’. This information was highlighted with a specific colour on the label to achieve the highest recognition by the consumer.
