Established in 2008 originally as a flexo printer, Cannock-based Paramount Labels has become a recognised name in flexo and digital label printing for a range of customers from emerging brands to multinationals.

Over the years, Paramount has seen their business grow into new markets, in particular digital print. As a result of increased growth and expansion, the firm moved to larger premises and continues to invest in infrastructure to fulfill this progression.

With increased customer demand for digitally printed labels, Paramount had a need for an enhanced digital label press that could meet this growing demand and offer a more profitable solution. They had previously used small desktop digital printers for a number of years, principally to test the market.

With comprehensive research into a range of entry-level digital presses, and following an on-stand visit to Dantex at Packaging Innovations, the clear choice was the versatile PicoColour® UV inkjet digital press, which offers superb printed results at a competitive price. The model selected included CMYK + white option, including variable data.

Paramount Labels has benefitted in a number of key areas from their investment:

  • Outstanding print quality
  • Adaptable
  • Small machine footprint
  • No additional costs for substrate treatment
  • Time saving and efficiencies – runs 8-10 hours daily
  • Ability to approach new markets
  • Excellent service support

Paramount Labels managing director Phil Wright: “Digital print is the way forward, and we always felt the PicoColour was the way to go – the best machine in market at this price. The quality is exceptional and it is fantastic to be able to push the boundaries of the machine through changes in artwork to create new finishes. It has opened new doors and enabled us to go into new markets, some of which start digital and then feed our flexo work.

“The Dantex team is superb and the remote diagnostics means any issues we may have are quickly resolved. We could not have made a better choice and look forward to adding to the digital offering in the future.”
