Since 1977 we have led the way in product innovation and development. Sweettape remains the only manufacturer in the world to use rubber latex adhesive. Rubber-based adhesive not only provides a powerful bond; it is also extremely environmentally friendly. Sweettape is still the sole manufacturer of decorative polypropylene ribbons and bows in Malaysia.
Environmentally friendly masking tape
One of Sweettape’s notable achievements has been the formulation of a natural emulsion-based adhesive, which is 100% odourless and environmentally friendly. This rubber adhesive is the result of almost four years of research collaboration with the National Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia. It is now successfully used by the company to produce the only environmentally friendly masking tape in the world.
OPP packaging tape
OPP packaging tape is a high-tack adhesive tape of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film coated with acrylic emulsion adhesive or our new natural rubber-based adhesive. OPP packaging tape is widely used in carton sealing and other applications, as it offers excellent clarity and is suitable for long-term storage.
High-tack adhesive tape
Sweettape’s #820 is a high-tack adhesive tape coated with emulsion-based acrylic adhesive. It has excellent adhesion and shear resistance to a variety of carton surfaces. It demonstrates outstanding impact resistant, excellent age, and very good holding power. It is UV resistant and can withstand extreme temperature.
Strong bond tape
Sweettape’s #839 is a strong bond tape that offers a combination of thick, high-performance backing and an ultra-aggressive adhesive system to ensure consistent and reliable seals. This strong bond tape boasts excellent adhesion and shear properties, superior shock and impact resistance and good holding power to a variety of carton surfaces. It is also suitable for use in cold temperature environments.
Carton sealing tape
Sweettape’s sealing tape is RoHS-compliant and solvent-free. It offers excellent fibre tear performance, even on highly recycled carton boxes. This excellent cold-room carton sealing tape is able to perform well in a wide range of temperatures (approximately -40ºC to +60ºC).
Double-sided packaging tapes
We have been working closely with contractors from the construction, advertising and signage industries to develop and confirm that our range of products, especially our specialised double-sided tapes, fulfil the practical requirements in their markets.
We offer a range of specialised double-sided tapes, including strong bond double-sided tissue tape and strong bond double-sided PE foam tape. Other tapes in our range include double-sided cloth tape, double-sided polyester tape and double-sided EVA foam tape.
Cloth tape
Our cloth tape is a unique solvent rubber adhesive tape with a polyethylene-laminated cloth. It is used for heavy-duty carton sealing, book spine binding, carpet joining, identification of package contents and destinations, and strapping and bundling. It comes in a range of colours: red, blue, green, black, yellow, pink, white, silver, light blue and beige.
Siliconised Kraft tape
Kraft tape’s double-structured backing increases the tape’s mechanical strength, while siliconising reinforces its resistance to moisture and water. It is suitable for sealing cartons, cold storage packing, temporarily fixing steel products (such as office and kitchen utensils) and machine parts, and sealing electrical and mechanical parts for conservation.
Aluminium foil tape
Our aluminium foil tape is produced from soft-tempered aluminium foil coated with an aggressive solvent acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive. It can be used for lamination for air-conditioning ducting systems, cold storage insulation, and temporary sealing of gaps. It is available in 36mm, 48mm and 72mm widths, and 40m and 35m lengths, although other sizes are available on request.
