Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 9% share of the Canadian’s packaging industry new job postings in Q1 2023, up by 59% over the prior quarter.
Management Occupations drive packaging hiring activity
Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Management Occupations, which accounted for 9% of the total new job postings in Q1 2023 and were up by 166% year-on-year. Second highest were Office and Administrative Support Occupations, which accounted for 8% and rise by 17% year-on-year, and third highest were Business and Financial Operations Occupations, which were 8% of the new job postings and 13% lower year-on-year.
Top five companies in packaging accounted for 92% of hiring activity
The highest number of jobs were posted by Cascades with 866, followed by Cascades Boxboard Group with 350, while the highest increase was at Resolute Forest Products at 13%.
