
The US packaging industry registered a 0.4% decline in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 1.57% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.52% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.74% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US packaging industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.42% in July 2021, a 2.56% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.6% share, decline of 1.25% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 11.13%, registering a 13.11% decline from June 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.45%, up 13.92% over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in the US IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 3.07% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US packaging industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Ball posted 181 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 12.56% over the previous month, followed by Under Armour with 54 jobs and a 100% growth. JBS with 29 IT jobs and Peloton Interactive with 27 jobs, recorded a 163.64% growth and a 48.08% decline, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded a 13.79% decline with 25 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.46%, up by 4.14% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.37% share, a decline of 15.14% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 21.64% share, up 3.52% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.53%, recording a month-on-month decline of 44.44%.
