The value marked an increase of 178.7% over the previous month and a drop of 9.3% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $1.4bn.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $1.17bn. At the country level, Australia topped the list in terms of deal value at $1.16bn.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for packaging industry M&A deals globally, followed by Europe and then North America.

In 2019, as of the end of October 2019, packaging M&A deals worth $13.08bn were announced globally, marking a decrease of 49.4% year on year.

4) The $13.1m acquisition of Smith Bateson and Van der Windt Packaging by Zeus Packaging Group

5) Century Bond’s acquisition of Taspack Industrial Sdn for $5.07m.
