The partnership is part of the company’s plan to repurpose its manufacturing capabilities.

ACE Surgical chief executive officer Craig Carchidi said: “Following the American Dental Association’s guidance recommending that US dental practitioners suspend seeing patients for elective procedures, we knew that we had to quickly adapt our operations.

“Our entire team has embraced our effort to switch gears and package an essential medical tool that will aid the work of healthcare providers to implement proper testing and tracing of the Covid-19 virus.

ACE Surgical is now processing around 50,000 testing swabs each day. It is currently working on its Brockton facility to increase the packaging capacity to one million swabs a month.
