Chemical recycling technology provider Agilyx’s venture Plastyx has achieved 75% of its near-term goal to source 200,000 tonnes (t) of waste plastic by the end of 2025, by securing memorandums of understanding for 150,000t of waste plastic.
At its current pace, Plastyx is on track to not only meet but potentially double its target to support its advanced recycling growth strategy.
The company is focused on strengthening the advanced recycling sector by forging partnerships and enhancing material processing capabilities.
These efforts aim to ensure a steady supply of high-quality polymers suitable for food-grade and other demanding packaging applications.
Agilyx, a leader in advanced recycling, says it transforms post-use plastics into valuable feedstock and products equivalent to virgin materials.
Agilyx, through its joint venture (JV) Cyclyx, enhances the collection and transformation of post-use plastic waste into tailor-made feedstock solutions for worldwide plastic manufacturers. Cyclyx was formed in collaboration with ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell, each holding a 25% stake.

By GlobalDataAdditionally, through its JV with Circular Resources, Plastyx supplies essential feedstock from European sources to the global mechanical and advanced recycling markets.
Agilyx also promotes TruStyrenyx, a polystyrene recycling solution that merges its Styrenyx depolymerisation technology with Technip Energies’ purification process.
By transitioning from the traditional linear economy to a circular one, Agilyx is contributing to the shift towards a lower-carbon future.
In June 2024, Agilyx demonstrated its depolymerisation technology in Japan. The technology was deployed at Toyo Styrene’s chemical recycling facility, having the capacity to recycle 10t per day.
