Clean beauty brand Alpyn and rePurpose Global have partnered for ocean-bound plastic initiative.

As part of the partnership, the company has committed to fund the waste collection and processing.

It has also pledged to reuse “an equivalent amount of ocean-bound plastic waste to its footprint”.

Following this, purchase of Alpyn Beauty products will ‘now carry a Net-Zero Plastic Footprint’. It has been certified as Plastic Neutral.

Alpyn Beauty founder Kendra Kolb Butler said: “We’ve made steps to remain a sustainable, earth-friendly brand since day one, so this partnership was a natural evolution for us.

“The amount of plastic waste that goes into the environment daily is devastating, and we believe this is a step in the right direction.

“While Alpyn uses 100% recycled glass bottles and jars, we have yet to find a suitable alternative to the plastic caps and pumps that help deliver and preserve our wildcrafted formulas.

“Therefore, we are excited to launch this new initiative with rePurpose to celebrate a plastic-free July, and beyond.”

On every purchase of Alpyn products, a percentage will be donated to plastic reduction efforts, thereby contributing to the elimination of low-value plastic waste.

In February this year, the beauty company teamed up with 1% For The Planet. The collaboration will the company donate 1% of its sales to their Wild Treasures campaign.

In December last year, beauty supplies retailer Sally Beauty launched SBH Going Green campaign to cut waste and save energy across its stores, supply chain and headquarters.
