
Packaging solutions company Amcor has announced the expansion of its healthcare packaging network with a new warehouse and distribution facility in Costa Rica.
Located in San José, the facility is strategically positioned to serve medical customers across the Americas, offering improved supply chain efficiency for a range of products such as trays, die-cut lids, forming films, bags, pouches, and labels.
The new Amcor facility will focus on speed of service and simplified customs management.
Amcor vice-president Art Castro said: “Amcor continues to invest in operational solutions to solve our customers’ biggest challenges. Costa Rica is home to several of the world’s top medtech OEMs [original equipment manufacturers], underscoring its role as a premier destination for medical technology investment and innovation.
“Our new warehouse and distribution centre will improve supply chain efficiency for our customers and provide greater access to Amcor’s innovative portfolio of packaging solutions.”

Earlier this month, Amcor selected four startups for its latest Lift-Off competition, to provide solutions that offer barriers for compostable substrates.
Last month, Amcor collaborated with RAUCH Yippy, a children’s drink brand in Austria, to supply its Secure Flip 26mm tamper-evident sports cap.
