The new packaging collaboration with Tyson Foods, which is made of Amcor‘s AmPrima recycle ready forming/non-forming flexible film, offers up to a 70% reduction in carbon footprint over conventional packaging.

It will be used for Tyson Foods’ Jimmy Dean egg bites and frittatas and is made of Amcor’s AmPrima recycle ready forming/non-forming flexible film.

The package is designed to be recycled in-store or curbside where available, reducing the amount of plastic waste. It offers up to a 70% reduction in carbon footprint over conventional packaging and a 42% reduction in water consumption.

Amcor, Tyson Foods aim for sustainable goals

When recycled through in-store drop off or curbside, the package provides an 80% reduction in non-renewable primary energy demands, a 70% reduction in carbon footprint, and a 68% reduction in water consumption.

Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas, Tyson Foods is described as one of the world’s largest food companies and is especially dominant in the protein food market.

Amcor is an Australian company that develops and produces responsible packaging solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal care, and other products.

The partnership between Amcor and Tyson Foods will help to reach sustainability goals and promote a more sustainable food system, the partners said in a release.
