Packaging solutions provider Amcor is providing Vöslauer Mineralwasser with a new tethered closure for its signature bottles.
The closure is designed to remain attached to the bottle when open, complying with European Union requirements for single use bottles up to three litres.

This regulation, part of the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive, is intended to reduce littering and improve recycling rates where proper recycling systems are available.
Yvonne Haider-Lenz of Vöslauer Mineralwasser said: “We appreciate that our customers have high standards and our commitment to quality is as evident in our packaging as it is in our mineral and flavoured waters.
“We value our longstanding collaboration with Amcor and the company’s ability to support our ongoing sustainability commitments.”
The redesigned closure opens to a wide angle and clicks into position away from the user’s face.
It can be reclosed easily for repeated use.
Vöslauer was also the first Austrian company to use Amcor’s Secure Flip sports cap, which includes a tamper-evident band that stays connected after opening.
The sports cap features a thumb tab for one-handed operation and opens up to 180 degrees.
Amcor Rigids Packaging Solutions International closures product line director Sarah de la Mare commented: “Closures play a critical role in drinks packaging, protecting the products and ensuring safe and easy access, and in this way can help to influence brand perceptions.
“We are delighted to work with Vöslauer in the continuing development of innovative solutions that support both their product and sustainability goals.”
Earlier this month, Mondelēz International collaborated with Amcor on sustainable packaging for Cadbury Easter products.
Packaging made using Amcor’s AmFiniti Recycled Content is expected to be available for Easter 2026.
