AR Packaging has acquired folding cartons manufacturer Firstan Holdings along with its subsidiary Firstan Limited to boost its presence in the UK.

Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Firstan designs and manufactures printed cartons for various sectors such as food, pharmaceutical, healthcare and cosmetic.

AR Packaging said that the acquisition is in line with its strategy to grow in selected segments and geographies.

It will also enable it to expand its multicategory packaging solutions offerings.

Firstan previous majority shareholder and managing director Andrew Hartwig said: “I am happy to see our company take the next step in its development and join AR Packaging.

Firstan operates a factory in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire. The plant is complete with advanced machinery and operating systems.

The company employs 140 staff skilled in designing and producing printed cartons.

With 30 factories in 13 countries, AR Packaging provides packaging solutions for a range of industries.
