Austria-based Schur Flexibles Group has agreed to purchase a majority of the shares in Netherland’s Drukkerij Zwart for an undisclosed sum.
With the deal, which is yet to receive approval from the cartel authorities, Schur Flexibles Group aims to enhance its portfolio of flexible packaging by offering smaller order sizes.

Serving the tea, coffee and confectionery sectors worldwide, Zwart currently operates plants in Amersfoort, Netherlands, and St. Petersburg, Russia.
The acquisition will help expand Schur Flexibles Group to include a total of 13 companies with 13 production locations.
Following the completion of the deal, the existing Zwart management will co-own the company.

Schur Flexibles Group produces high-barrier, made-to-measure packaging solutions for the food, tobacco and pharmaceutical industries.
In July, Capiton and Schur International sold their shares in Schur Flexibles Group to US-based equity firm Lindsay Goldberg.
