Avantor Performance Materials is set to offer tamper-evident outer packaging seals for all regulated pharmaceutical raw material and product containers by the end of 2011.

Avantor said the use of the seals will allow pharmaceutical customers to identify evidence of product tampering and ensure the received shipment contains an official Avantor product.

Avantor executive vice president, pharmaceuticals and the Americas Paul Smaltz said the initiative will be implemented to meet the needs of drug manufacturers.
