Barra Mansa Alimentos was looking for a combined system for a new deboning line that could raise output, improve vacuum packaging for its Oranges Alimentos brand and simplify plant operations.
Barra Mansa Oranges Alimentos operations director Felipe Oranges said: “The implementation of Moda Vac technology has significantly improved our productivity and vacuum performance. The system’s stability, versatility and ease of integration into our production flow were decisive in our decision.”
Amcor supplied the Moda Vac high-speed equipment together with packaging materials and local technical support for the installation.
The packaging company said the new lines have already raised capacity and improved consistency in operations, vacuum results and process stability.
Three Moda Vac rotary vacuum chamber sealing units were installed, replacing as many as nine belt chamber machines, a format widely used in the Latin American protein sector.
When all three lines are completed in 2026, Amcor added that Barra Mansa is expected to run one of the region’s most advanced rotary vacuum sealing set-ups.
Amcor Brazil vice-president and general manager Marcelo Queiroz said: “This project demonstrates how our integrated approach — combining materials, equipment, and technical expertise — helps customers improve productivity, consistency and long-term competitiveness.
“Brazil is a strategic growth market for Amcor, and initiatives like this reflect the progress we are making to expand our capabilities, invest in innovation and work more closely with customers to support their long-term growth.”
