Capital equipment and engineering solutions firm Barry-Wehmiller is planning to acquire the paper-processing division of Bielomatik Leuze for an undisclosed amount.
Bielomatik’s paper processing assets will be merged with Barry-Wehmiller’s paper and board sheeting and converting arm BW Papersystems, under an agreement signed.

Based in Germany, Bielomatik offers a wide range of paper processing equipment, including sheeters, and machines for wrapping, stacking and packing.
Bielomatik’s paper processing unit also manufactures stationery and binding machines featuring all binding technologies used for the production of exercise books, in schools and businesses worldwide.
In addition, BW Papersystems offers its products under Will-Pemco, MarquipWardUnited, SHM, Wrapmatic, Kugler-Womako and Curioni brands to paper and board sheeting, paper converting and corrugating industries.
It offers technology for folio, cut size and digital sheeting and packaging machines, as well as stationery, passport production and specialised paper converting applications.

By GlobalDataUpon completion of the deal, BW Papersystems and Bielomatik will employ more than 1,600 people and will generate more than $400m in revenues.
With 8,500 employees, Barry-Wehmiller supplies engineering consulting and manufacturing technology for the packaging, corrugating, sheeting and paper converting industries. The company designs and manufactures label application equipment, as well as converting equipment for flexible packaging and shrink sleeve label converting industries.
