UK-based ethical cleaning company Bio-D has chosen Berry Global to improve the packaging of its liquid product range.
Plastic packaging manufacturer Berry created a range of reusable bottles from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic for the company.
The new range is available in various sizes, including 750ml, one litre, and five litres.
Bio-D will use this packaging for its Laundry Liquid, Fabric Conditioner, Dishwasher Rinse Aid, Washing Up Liquid, and Home & Garden Cleaner products.
Bio-D sustainability manager Heather Nixon said: “Reusable bottles made completely from PCR offer a more sustainable solution than alternatives such as pouches.
“Berry has worked hard to ensure that the bottle is tough and long-lasting while also offering convenience and ease of use for the consumer to deliver a solution that is fit for purpose while fully complementing our brand values.”

By GlobalDataThe bottles can be refilled multiple times at more than 300 refill stores across the country.
Bio-D estimates that the 100% PCR bottles will save 13 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually when compared to virgin plastic.
Berry Blow Moulding Specialities’ sales development manager Sally Halliwell said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Bio-D in a project that has enabled us to further refine and perfect our processes and which will inform the ongoing development of other products within the Berry BMS portfolio.
“Working closely with Bio-D, we have been able to deliver ‘More Together’ and show how recycled plastics can play a vital role in the development of packaging solutions that are both practical and sustainable.”
In March this year, Berry improved the sustainability of Everbrand’s de-icing IS-FRITT product by adding 50% PCR plastic to the brand’s SuperLift container.
