Compostable packaging solutions provider Better Earth has introduced its Farmer’s Fiber Retail Collection in the US.

The collection includes a wide range of compostable moulded fibre plates and bowls.

Better Earth claims that this collection is Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI)-certified and a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic and virgin wood fibre tableware.

Manufactured in the state of Tennessee, the new line includes 10in, 9in, 7in, and three-compartment plates, along with 12oz bowls.

The company said that the new Farmer’s Fiber Retail Collection is crafted from renewable perennial fibres such as miscanthus and sorghum.

These materials support a carbon-negative status and reflect Better Earth’s commitment to fighting climate change.

The collection’s items are claimed to be per-and poly fluoroalkyl substances-free, leak-resistant, and microwave-safe, catering to both hot and cold food needs.

Better Earth noted that its commitment to US-based manufacturing and sourcing provides significant support to small farmers and rural economies.

In May last year, Better Earth introduced its Touch-Free Arrow Cutlery Dispenser along with the Better Earth Arrow Cutlery Collection.

The company claimed that its BPI-certified compostable crystallized polylactic acid cutlery is also compliant with ASTM D-6400 standards for compostability.

The new cutlery was claimed to be the first on the market to meet BPI’s labelling standards for commercial compostability. The dispenser aimed to boost efficiency and promote environmental responsibility in dining establishments.
