Canadian packaging optimisation firm Cartier Packaging has purchased Complete Packaging Systems, a supply chain company based in Ontario.

Complete Packaging Systems optimises and secures transport packages, primarily serving the railway industry.

The company provides ‘high-quality’ cargo securement products, including CYCLONE Air Bags and new Hanger Bags, to companies across North America.

The deal is the first acquisition for Cartier Packaging, which aims to bolster its experience in eco-responsible packaging.

Based in St-Cesaire, Cartier claims to be one of the major players in the industrial packaging market in Eastern Canada and the US.

Cartier Packaging president David Cartier said: “This acquisition is fully aligned with our vision to be a leader in environmentally responsible packaging solutions in Eastern Canada for manufacturing industries and distribution centres that wish to optimise their secondary and tertiary packaging.

“It was essential for us to find a partner who shares similar values to ours, both towards its employees and its customers.

“Like us, Complete Packaging Systems focuses on the customer experience and optimised packaging, in addition to having a strong differentiation strategy, which is crucial to remain competitive in our industry.”

Following the acquisition, Complete Packaging Systems will retain its current brand image and become a division of Cartier Packaging.

The company expects to secure its market share and advance its growth through this acquisition.

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Complete Packaging Systems president Darren Burden said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with such a reputable and strong player as Cartier, which will allow us to diversify our service offering and expand our expertise in the industrial packaging sector into other markets.

“This transaction will not only allow us to secure our market share but also to continue our growth.”
