Constellation Brands plans to strengthen its wine portfolio by acquiring five super and ultra-premium wines from Charles Smith Wines.

The transaction, which is expected to be completed by 31 October 2016, will allow Constellation Brands to become a major supplier of Washington State wines.

Gay Lea Foods Co-operative, a dairy products maker, has entered an agreement to acquire the business of Stirling Creamery, a natural and flavoured butter producer.

The acquisition will allow Gay Lea Foods to strengthen its position in the Canadian dairy industry.

Ontario Teacher’s Pension plans to acquire Canadian wine business from Constellation Brands for a purchase consideration of $783.62m.

The transaction, which is expected to be completed by end of 2016, will allow Constellation Brands to further develop its wine and spirits portfolio.
