UK-based DS Smith has introduced a new courier box, which is designed as a customised plastic packaging to meet the extreme transportation conditions of courier company TNT Express.

The courier delivery firm has selected DS Smith to develop a custom-made and durable box that could help the company to enhance mail picking and logistic handling services, as well as reduce carriage costs.

DS Smith Plastics designed the box taking into consideration requirements such as identification, interior of the boxes and usability set by the logistics company.

According to the packaging firm, the box features a sloped bottom to keep the contents at the centre during logistic handling and a dedicated space for identification labels on the exterior.

The box is equipped with reinforced sides and rims to protect the box against intense usage while it features ergonomic grips on the sides for easy handling.

“The company noted that the reusable courier box can last for decades and are 100% recyclable after use.”

It is designed to fit across the entire supply chain such as on the pallets, dollies, and conveyers of a distribution centre.
