Taiwan-based papermaking and printing group E Ink Holdings has partnered with luxury and beauty specialist Texen to develop digital packaging solutions for cosmetics.

Using E Ink’s low-power, high-contrast display technology and Texen’s packaging expertise, the partnership will create customisable packaging displays for cosmetic products, such as makeup compacts and perfume bottles.

Powered by near field communications (NFC), the E Ink display can be updated using a smartphone.
