Pure Pak

Norwegian carton producer Elopak has developed the Pure-Pak Sense carton in order to help combat food waste.

With easy-to-fold lines, the carton will allow users to fold the carton and squeeze out more of the product from the pack, which is ideal for high-viscosity products.

This easy-to-fold feature helps in reducing volume in waste or recycling facilities as it allows for convenient flattening of the empty carton.

Elopak’s Pure-Pak Sense carton has an arched top fin along with a print option to provide a tool for improved range navigation and to accommodate promotional messages.

It also has an embossed first-touch zone on the top sides of the pack, which lends it a different look and feel and also offers better handling.

Elopak global marketing director Christoph Schönig said: "Today, a carton has to be more than just a generic package for liquid food.

"It also has an embossed first-touch zone on the top sides of the pack, which lends it a different look and feel and also offers better handling."

"Packaging is an important element of the marketing mix for our customers and, as such, it must enable business growth.

"Therefore, Elopak’s goal is to consistently improve its packaging solutions to meet current needs in terms of appearance and functionality, as well as cost and flexibility."

The company has developed these cost-effective cartons that provide flexible options on existing filling lines with a minimal investment in a retrofit kit.

Products can be filled in one-litre Pure-Pak Sense cartons with a 500ml carton size, which would be available from early 2015.
