Trakrap

EM Pharma has procured two more stretch wrapping packaging systems from secondary packaging company TrakRap.

The move comes after the consumer healthcare manufacturer achieved significant energy and packaging savings in the past one year by replacing its shrink wrap heat tunnels with TrakRap’s packaging system.

TrakRap’s stretch wrapping packaging system uses bespoke 100% recyclable polymer film to wrap products and bond the pack together.

Developed with ReelVision, TrakRap trays work with the film and use less cartonboard, thereby creating lighter, 100% recyclable retail ready packaging (RRP) for retailers.

"Our partnership with TrakRap has enabled us to take a holistic view of secondary packaging."

Of the two recent TrakRap packaging systems, one features TrakRap`s latest technology that is capable of wrapping one product completely uncollated, removing the need of corrugate trays.

EM Pharma managing director Kevan Abley said: "Secondary packaging for the pharmaceutical sector presents a unique spread of challenges. Our partnership with TrakRap has enabled us to take a holistic view of secondary packaging, looking at the whole process, the film, machinery and tray, rather than each individual element.
