Coated and laminated films manufacturer FLEXcon has expanded its THERMLfilm HT product line with the introduction of four new high-temperature polyimide constructions.
The new THERMLfilm HT 9000 Series products have been tested and approved for leaded and lead-free reflow in the wave solder environment.

With an ability to withstand fluctuating temperatures and abrasion, the films offer optimum printability (600 DPI) for high-density bar codes and alphanumeric information.
Said to be suitable for high-temperature labelling applications up to 750°F (398°C), the products can be used by electronics, automotive, aerospace and military manufacturers.
FLEXcon product identification business team market development specialist Ron Ducharme said: “Manufacturers understand that printability, chemical and heat resistance are the most critical factors when selecting materials that will endure the severe conditions of the PCB manufacturing process.
“For years, manufacturers have relied on FLEXcon’s successful line of THERMLfilm HT films, and we recognised the need for polyimide products for the wave solder environment for contract manufacturers, end users and our customer base, with heightened performance and worldwide distribution.”

By GlobalDataThe new products comprise 1mil and 2mil white polyimide films with a permanent acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive.
The company also carried out successful testing of the films at third-party laboratories to evaluate their performance.
FLEXcon stated that the halogen-free products were processed through standard PCB process as measured by MIL-STD-202G and MIL-STD-883E military specifications.
The films also comply with the European WEEE-RoHS and REACH directives.
