Luxembourg-based printing and packaging solution provider Flint Group has acquired American Inks and Coatings (AIC) for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Arkansas, US, AIC manufactures inks and related products for rotogravure, flexographic packaging, and specialty printing industries.

With the deal, Flint Group aims to expand its product portfolio in the paper and board, flexible and printing packaging sectors in North America.

"With our two companies coming together as one, we will create a business which can deliver what is needed by printers today and well into the future."

The deal is expected to be closed later this year, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

In February, the company announced its acquisition of US-based Advanced Color Systems (ACS), which manufactures and distributes water-based inks worldwide.
