Global Closure Systems (GCS) has launched a new anti-counterfeit closure for the spirits market under its UCP brand.
The new TIVA 2 is a non-refillable closure that has a clever tamper evidence ring built into the top part of the body, the company claims.

When removed forcefully, the ring breaks, leaving permanent evidence immediately visible by end-use consumers.
The closure also has sealing capability due to patented UCP Flange design. The flange carries the TIVA 2 valve in the shell and creates the seal on the glass after application, enabling a seamless changeover between TIVA 2 and a standard aluminium closure.
The TIVA 2 closure will use a complex high-speed camera validation and alignment system to ensure maximum precision and repeatability at each critical step of the production process.
This uses the same controlled bore specification like the current TIVA products and can be used with a wide range of bottle types at speeds of up to 600 bottles a minute.

In addition, the closure’s non-drip feature prevents spilling of alcohol from the bottle when pouring into a glass.
GCS currently offers a wide range of plastic and metal closures and dispensing systems for the global beverage, food, household and industrial, healthcare, personal care, and wine and spirits markets.
