US-based personal care company Grove Collaborative has expanded its Peach product line with the introduction of a fully plastic-free deodorant and body care refill system.

The launch is in line with the company’s Beyond Plastic initiative, in which it aims to become entirely plastic-free by 2025.

The refill system is available in refillable deodorant, body lotion and body balm stick sets.

The system’s starter pack features either a deodorant, body lotion or balm stick as well as a reusable aluminum case.

Each of the deodorant and lotion sets is priced at $19.95, while the refill retails are priced at $11.95.

Grove Collaborative co-founder and CEO Stuart Landesberg said: “Plastic is everywhere. In order to solve that problem, we have to create better products for consumers one category at a time.

“The Peach deodorant and lotion line builds on Grove’s leadership in sustainable packaging and is the industry’s first-ever fully plastic-free deodorant and body care refill system.

“The performance is exceptional [on par with leading national brands], with 48-hour odour protection, and the products are vegan and use fully natural fragrances.

“The launch is a result of our continued focus on sustainable product innovation as we develop new formats that are planet-friendly and built based on input from our community.”

Launched last year, Peach aims to eliminate plastic from the personal care routine.

The brand has so far removed more than 54,000lb of plastic from its bar format shampoos and conditioners, hand and body washes and facial cleansers.

In addition, every Peach product purchase helps to support the brand’s non-profit partner, 5 Gyres Institute.

Working with 5 Gyres Institute, Peach aims to reduce plastic pollution globally by raising education and awareness around the issue, supplying information, tools and connections to help drive local change.
