Finnish packaging company Huhtamäki has extended its environmentally-friendly BioWare range with the introduction of PLA polarity tumblers and lids.

The items, made from plant starch-derived Ingeo PLA resin, are suitable for a wide range of cold beverages and are certified in accordance with EN13432, the European norm for compostability of packaging.

The containers are available in a variety of sizes including 7oz, 12oz, 16oz and 21oz, all with a 95mm diameter and can be fitted with a choice of PLA Polarity lids.

The crystal-clear and heavy-weight products can be custom-printed with up to six different colours and can be used for fruit smoothies, milkshakes, refreshing juices and chilled frappuccinos.

The manufacturer of consumer and specialty packaging is based in Espoo, Finland, with 58 manufacturing units worldwide with sub-brands such as Chinet, Bibo, Lily and BioWare family of compostable tableware and packaging.
