Uflex

India-based Uflex has developed a new cast polypropylene (CPP) film for use in packaging applications.

The new film is said to provide a more robust seal than other CPP and Polyethylene (PE) films, and increase the shelf life of packed goods from six months to almost a year.

It also addresses several issues, including the poor runability of laminate on Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machines and contamination.

Developed after more than a year of research and development, the film features low seal initiation temperature (SIT), high and broad hot tack strength, and a high-quality hermeticity seal.

According to Uflex, it can be used in several applications, including snack, condiment and over-the-mountain (OTM) packaging.

The film is resistant to nitrogen flushing and is available in plain, metallised and white CPP variants.
