Turkey-based Ispak Ambalaj has opened its new advanced manufacturing and production facility for flexible packaging solutions in Izmit.

The €70m facility is designed to produce packaging solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial and tobacco brand owners in Europe and North America.

Equipped with the latest technologies for blown film packaging production, triple-layer lacquering, extrusion coating and lamination, the Industry 4.0 factory has increased Ispak’s annual flexible packaging production capacity to 40,000t.

The facility also features automatic slitting and die-cutting, HD flexo and rotogravure printing on aluminium and resin films, wax lamination and embossing capabilities.

Being the second production facility of Ispak, the new plant also includes a hygienic clean-room production area and a solvent recovery unit.

Backed by Kibar Holding Group, Ispak aims to become one of the top 20 packaging converters in Europe by 2020.

Ispak develops flexible packaging applications for chocolate products, sugar and confectionery, dairy products, beverages, dried food and snacks, medical and pharmaceutical products, toiletries, hygiene and pet food.
