Parmalat has installed an injection preform system (IPS) from Sacmi Group at its facility in Caserta, Italy.

The facility currently manufactures polyethylene terephthalate (PET) preforms for the Italian milk market.

Known as IPS 220, the newly installed solution provides a fully automated and integrated production platform to Parmalat.

The user-friendly changeover system features a 48-cavity injection mould, optimised hot chamber channels, and high-efficiency cooling circuits for heat exchange during production cycles.

“The IPS 220 is able to predict spare part and maintenance requirements, reducing production downtime."

It has been designed to be monitored remotely by any device connected to the corporate network.

Sacmi has also provided its ‘Sacmi Total Care’ system, which enables predictive performance and process monitoring.

The company's IPS 400 platform was recently acquired by Iranian firm Khoshform.

Planned to be installed at Khoshform’s facility in Mashad, Iran, the solution allows direct unloading on containers placed in the post-cooling area and reduces contamination risks.
