Intrapac (Singapore) has acquired an 85% interest in Lonsing Packaging Industries from its directors for S$0.8m ($0.59m) in cash.

The stake represents 127,500 ordinary shares of Lonsing Packaging, and the acquisition will enable Intrapac to increase its footprint in the Singapore food packaging products market.

Based in Singapore, Intrapac is a producer and marketer of recycled paper and a subsidiary of investment holding company Muda Holdings.

Also based in Singapore, Lonsing Packaging is a paper products manufacturing firm. Its directors include Tan Kheng Hiang, Lim Poh Beng and Tong Sow Kheng.

Fedrigoni has signed an agreement to acquire Gruppo Cordenons.

Smurfit Kappa has signed a deal to purchase Reparenco for approximately €460m ($535.9m).

Based in Ireland, Smurfit Kappa is a corrugated packaging company that produces paper-based packaging products, while Reparenco is a paper and recycling services firm based in the Netherlands.

The acquisition will be a complementary addition to Smurfit Kappa’s business and is expected to strengthen its business model.

Sonoco plans to purchase a 70% interest in Conitex Sonoco USA for $133m in cash.

The transaction is expected to close in September 2018, subject to international regulatory approvals.

Sonoco is a provider of packaging products and services, while Conitex Sonoco is a manufacturer of packaging products, including textile carriers, tubes, bulk bags and paper products.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.
