Pro Mach unit Matrix Packaging Machinery will introduce new vertical-form fill seal solution and fill-and-seal, pre-made pouch machine at United Fresh 2015 in Chicago, US, which will be held from 8 to 10 June.

The company has integrated new ultrasonic sealing option to its Mercury HS packaging machine, which provides vertical-form-fill-seal speeds of up to 140 bags a minute.

Ultrasonic welding is said to apply precise ultra-high-speed vibrations along a seam and friction on the internal layers of a bag produces heat that melts and bonds the innermost layers.

The Mercury HS forms, fills and seals bags with widths ranging from 1.75in to 11in and lengths from 2.5in to 15in. It features stainless-steel construction, colour touchscreen operator panel, an English or Spanish operator interface and an Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLC control system.

Toyo Jidoki TT-8D-N also features seal area cleaning, double pouch detection, pouch opening detection device, pouch pick-up position detection, product in seal detection, product feeding hopper and product discharge conveyor.
