Brewing company Molson Coors has introduced its new range of Coors Light beer cans featuring sun-activated ink technologies across Canada.

Available in 355m and 473ml variants, the new range has used both photochromic and thermochromic ink to ensure its Summer and Cold-Certified features.

The Coors Light Summer certified cans are distributed in six limited edition designs, which are painted in photochromic ink that are nearly invisible until the cans are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays.

Once the cans are brought into sunlight, the vibrant colours of the design are instantly revealed.

However, the UV-activated colours do not indicate that the beer is getting warm.

Even after being exposed to UV rays, the cans are designed to carry the thermochromic ink used by Coors Light to turn its mountain iconography blue, indicating that the beer is ‘cold certified’ and ready to drink.
