The new film features higher gloss, more transparency and increased puncture and tear resistance, providing greater protection for sharp-edged food such as bread rolls or bacon.

The firm said both the seven or 14-layer high barrier films show high aroma protection with an extended shelf-life.

Previously, the company has already installed a seven-layer blown film extruder from Windmüller & Hölscher and operates six five-layer extruders.
