UK-based packaging and paper company Mondi has developed packaging for Turkish heating equipment supplier Warmhaus.
The Monocorr Boxes are made of fully recyclable corrugated board, including their inserts, which replace Warmhaus’ previously used expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam inserts.

The packaging can be recycled in Turkey and supports Warmhaus’s exports to the European Union, in which some retailers are starting to adopt EPS-free packaging.
Warmhaus purchasing unit leader Fatih Aydın said: “We are committed to energy saving and protecting the environment, and we want our product packaging to reflect the same standards.
“In addition to its sustainability advantages, corrugated cardboard packaging can also improve the protection of products, transporting and storing them safely and cost-efficiently.
“We’ve been using Monocorr Boxes since last August and have received positive feedback from our customers.”

By GlobalDataMonocorr Boxes offer logistical and shipping benefits as they can be delivered flat. The corrugated inserts also consume 94% less space than Warmhaus’ previous EPS foam inserts.
In addition, the outer boxes are 6% smaller, which allows Warmhaus to stack 20% more items on each shipping pallet.

Founded in 1996, Warmhaus manufactures radiators and boilers for home heating, including steel panel radiators, combination boilers, wall-hung condensing and high-capacity boilers.
Earlier this month, Mondi developed a reusable packaging concept for Henkel’s Pril hand dishwashing brand in Germany.
The concept includes a fully recycled and reusable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) pump dispenser bottle, as well as refills contained in a recyclable polyethylene (PE) mono-material pouch.
