Canadian aluminium and laminate tube manufacturer Montebello Packaging has announced that it will invest $24.2m in its plant in Lebanon, Kentucky, US.

The project includes the addition of 110,000ft² production space to accommodate new manufacturing lines, and is scheduled for completion by August 2012.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has previously approved tax incentives up to about $2.1m for Montebello to encourage the expansion.

The tubes the company manufactures are used in a variety of products and industries, including pharmaceutical, personal care, cosmetics, household, industrial and food products.
