SuperLock, the barrier packaging solution from RPC Superfos, which claims to ensure efficient storage and a shelf life of up to 24 months for food products, is now available from RPC Containers Blackburn.
Combining an oxygen wall on all surfaces with a membrane seal to assure an almost non-existent oxygen transmission rate, the new containers are suitable to pack several products, including ready meals, sauces, soups, fruit desserts, nuts, vegetable spreads, dairy products and pickles.
RPC UK injection moulding sales manager Dave Pratt said: "The continuing drive for convenience in the food sector has fuelled the demand for attractive and practical packs that can maintain product quality and freshness, while at the same time promoting and enhancing a premium brand image.
"SuperLock offers a very modern solution that has already proved successful in a range of applications throughout mainland Europe and we are delighted to be able to add it to our portfolio to bring the same benefits to our UK customers."
Suitable for hot and cold filling, the new containers will also cater to applications in product pasteurisation or sterilisation, while offering low noise on the filling line.
Claimed to be low-carbon and fully recyclable, the new container range offers consumers easy and safe handling, as well as re-closability. The containers are also microwave-, dishwasher- and freezer-safe.
