Bosch Packaging Technology is set to launch its new range of solutions for liquid pharmaceuticals applications at the upcoming Interpack event to be held in May.

The solutions to be presented at the show include a fermenter that can be used to produce pilot batches of cells for cultivation purposes, such as for cancer medication.

Using different mixing technologies, the machine processes batches between 8l and 50l via scale-up, and increases batch sizes to 200l.

At Interpack 2017, Bosch Packaging will also unveil its new ALF 5000 stand-alone system for vial filling.

Featuring a complete in-process control and a carrying rake transport system, the solution is capable of filling up to 600 containers a minute.

Bosch Packaging Technology pharma business development head Christian Treitel said: “We offer solutions and line concepts – from development and production through to filling, inspection, packaging and services, all featuring exceptionally high flexibility regarding products and packaging types.”

The company’s new portfolio also includes a return air filter for use in highly potent products.

Unlike the traditional change filters, Bosch’s new return air filter can be integrated into the packaging machine, saving time and facilitating cleaning.

At Interpack, Bosch will also present the KLV 1360, its new solution for detecting leaks in rigid containers, and a new end-of-line assembly and packaging system from its subsidiary Moeller & Devicon.

Capable of assembling auto-injectors or pens at a rate of between five and 15 pieces per minute, the solution can be modified for larger batches and fully automated production.
