Indian flexible packaging company Uflex has developed a Grade ‘F-AMF’, Melamine-free, acrylic-coated bi-axially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) film.

The company said that the new film is clear, transparent, and puncture and hot fill-resistant.

Uflex chairman and managing director Ashok Chaturvedi said: “Melamine-free acrylic-coated BOPET film is a testament to Uflex’s unwavering commitment towards consumer safety and customer satisfaction across the globe.

“Additionally this film also exhibits excellent transparency, gloss and printability making it an absolute delight for the converters. I congratulate my R&D team at this success.”

"This film has been particularly developed amid increasing demand from our customers globally."

During trials at the Flex Films Europa facility in Poland, the film was revealed to have no melamine content, good printability and enhanced lamination.

The company claims that its film has demonstrated good machinability and handling properties. It further added that the primer coating on one side of the film provided absolute adhesion with inks and adhesives, and the other side of film surface is suitable for corona treatment for value addition.
